Undergraduate Internship Program:

The Women and International Development Program at Michigan State University (MSU-WID) generally employs two undergraduate interns each academic semester.

These are paid positions requiring a commitment of 10-20 hours per week. Applicants should be sophomores or juniors enrolled at Michigan State University. Excellent writing and research skills are required. Also necessary are computer and Web knowledge, an ability to work independently, and a strong interest in issues of diversity and women's issues on a global level.

The internships involve working on WID's Web site, the WID Bulletin, and other projects. Depending on performance, the position may continue through the academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for students of International Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Women's Studies, or anyone interested in development issues and their effects on women globally, particularly in the Third World. If interested, please mail, fax, or e-mail a letter of interest describing your qualifications and how the position contributes to your career goals, as well as a resume and brief writing sample to the WID office.
